What personal data I collect and why I collect it

Jodie Humphries Digital Marketing, also known as @digitaljodie is committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of visitors to my website. Any information that is shared with me is only used for my own business purposes and is not sold, rented or traded to other third parties.
In this Privacy Policy you’ll find information on how I treat data from visitors to my website, or when someone subscribes to my newsletter.
When you visit my site I will collect the following types of information: cookies and usage data. If you agree to sign up to my newsletter or request a free download then I will collect your first name and last name and email address.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Contact forms

When you use a contact form to get in touch with me I retain your first and last name and your email address so that I can get in touch with you. 

Cookies

If you leave a comment on my site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, I will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, I will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

My website uses cookies to collect information. This is a small data file on your computer, smartphone or tablet. This is standard practice for all websites. This includes information about pages viewed and the customer journey around my website.

The main purposes that Cookies are used for are:

• Providing me with information about browsing and purchasing behaviour by people who access my website which is then used to maintain a useful and good experience on my website and to give me insight on where improvements can be made
• To market to you via ‘retargeting’ advertisements or specific content via social media adverts including on Facebook. The information that is used to create this ‘targeting’ would have been provide to be via an email address or would have been based on the information that third party sites collect about you and your interests (Twitter and Facebook).

Analytics

When someone visits www.jodiehumphries.co.uk I use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. I do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. I do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting my website

Mailing Lists

I create a newsletter and free downloads for my clients and in order to send out the email I collect selected personal data. From time to time I may also send information that I think may be of interest to you such as a special offer or information about a new service that is of relevance to you.

I use a third party provider, Mailchimp, to deliver the newsletter and manage the customer data. I gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help me monitor and improve mye-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice.

You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of my emails or by emailing Jodie@jodiehumphries.co.uk

Who we share your data with

Any information that is shared with me is only used for my own business purposes and is not sold, rented or traded to other third parties.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data I hold about you, including any data you have provided to me You can also request that we erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
